The 2018 EDGC has been awarded to Croatia.
The EDGC Advisory Committee and the EDGF board forwarded the Croatian bid, specifically to follow our policy to alternate between north & south and east & west, but also in view of “expanding the European disc golf map”.
Proposed date will be 15-18 August 2018 with days for travel and practice. Detailed agenda will be available at a later stage.
The venue, Resort LifeClass Terme Sveti Martin is located in the northern part of Croatia, and is distanced 110 kilometers from Zagreb, 196 km from Ljubljana, 257 km from Vienna and 280 km from Budapest. Terme Sveti Martin is a unique destination in mainland Croatia for relaxation and wellness, sport and active holidays, congresses and team building along with first class gastronomic experiences and wonderful natural surroundings. The Resort comprises a complex of indoor pools with thermal water, a summer aqua park, a wellness centre and various restaurants.
The Spa Hills course area consists of a 18-hole disc golf course, warming up area at the football field and surrounding area, Tournament headquarters at the Golf house and small (putting) warm up area by the golf house. As 2nd Central European Disc Golf Championship is scheduled for June 10-11 2017 at Spa Hills course, our goal is to extend the course area what would allow for additional overall length over 2.000 m and the course par to be set at 60+.
Proposed Tournament Director is Dinko Šimenc #52313, and additional TD’s are Vanja Brozović #57256 and Aki Vucković #62431. The EDGC 2018 is supported by the Croatian Flying Disc Federation, the LifeClass Terme Sveti Martin, the Municipality of Sveti Martin na Muri and the Medimurje County.
The official logo is under design as well as opening the specific EDGC 2018 website. All further details will be communicated to the countries in due time.
We are looking forward to hold the EDGC 2018 in Croatia and are convinced that the EDGC 2018 organizing committee will provide an excellent event which will become another great experience for the European Discgolfers.
