Views on the European Disc Golf Championships are largely positive, highlighting the unique country-vs-country atmosphere and the challenging, scenic courses. Players appreciate the cultural significance and opportunity to represent their nations. The event is also recognized for being a major championship with a high level of play.
However, the quality of the events differs from organization to organization, and not every selected host finally could fully match the expectations and requirements. While some locations have the ideal environment and resources to hold an almost professional event, others nearly struggle due to lack of ressources (financial and/or manpower). Well, this is the reality and we all have to live with it, but the future is bright anyhow!
As from the side of EDGF, we are trying to support future hosts with as many as possible tools, guidelines and manuals, as well as knowledge transfers, to ensure a consistent quality from event to event. Important is also the support of the hosts by their national disc golf organization (NDGGB) to make the European Disc Golf Championships become a national success as well. All the voluntary work is highly appreciated and we cannot thank all enough having invested and will invest their time for running such a big event.
The bidding for the 2027/2029 editions is on the way and we are looking forward receiving many great bids from our members. The official announcement of the hosts is foreseen for early 2026.
